Manners EAT

Prophet Muhammad is the role model people in various aspects of life. In terms of health, the teachings he has been proven by many modern studies would benefit a great truth. One of his teachings is adab-adab meal that brings health and blessings throughout the ages.

Among adab-adab eat that Prophet Muhammad taught are:

1. Slandering the food is not preferred.

Abu Hurairah ra. said: "The Prophet Muhammad never denounced any food. When his appetite, he ate it., and if he does not like it, then he left." (Narrated by Bukhari, Muslim)

From Jabir ra. that the Prophet once said to his family (his wife) about the side dishes. They replied: "We only have vinegar". Then he asked him and eat with him, as he said: "The best side dishes are vinegar (al-khall), as well as all the side dishes were (containing) vinegar." (Narrated by Muslim)

Research Dr. Masaru Emoto of Japan in his book 'The True Power of Water' found that the element of water was alive. Air able to respond to the stimulus of the human form of oral and written. When the sentence was pronounced good or pasted text with positive words, then the water will form a beautiful crystalline structure and can have the power to heal various diseases. Conversely, if the sentence is pronounced or affixed calumny, censure or other negative sentence, then the water will form a crystalline structure that is ugly and can negatively affect health.

2. Washing hands before and after eating.

Rasulullah SAW said: "He who was asleep in her arms are former lard / fat (because it is not washed) and when you wake up in the morning he was suffering from an illness, then he is not to blame but himself."

3. Reading Basmalah and Hamdalah.

Rasulullah SAW said: "If anyone of you want to eat, then call it the name of Allah SWT., And if he forgot his name at first, then read, 'Bismillahi awwalahu akhirahu wa' (In the name of Allah at the beginning and at the end ). "(Narrated by Abu Dawood)

In another narration, it is mentioned that the Prophet smiled when he explains when a Muslim does not read Basmalah before eating, then Satan would eat with him. However, when the Muslim's mind and mention the name of Allah, the devil was immediately regurgitate food that is eaten.

Prophet also said: "Verily Allah be pleased with a servant when eating a meal and then he say Alhamdulillah., And when he drank a drink so he will say Alhamdulillah." (Narrated by Muslim, Ahmad and Tirmidhi)

4. Eat right-handed.

Abdullah ibn Umar. said that the Messenger of Allah said: "If one among you eat, let him eat with his right hand, and when he drank it ought to drink with his right hand. because the demon was eating and drinking with his left hand." (Narrated by Muslim)

Both hand held dispense three types of enzymes, but the concentration in the right hand more than the left hand. Enzymes are very helpful in the process of digestion.

5. Do not lean when eating.

Rasulullah SAW said: "I do not eat the lean position (muttaki's)." (Narrated by Bukhari)

"Muttaki's" who interpret sitting there cross-legged, and some are interpreting leaning on something, whether it's leaning on one hand or leaning on pillows. Some are interpreting leaning on the side of the body.

Rasulullah SAW if you eat, not eat to use as cushion seat cushion as people who want to eat a lot of food with a varied menu. Rasulullah SAW makes eating as worship to God. So he sat barefoot and pick up food to taste.

6. Eating food closest previously.

Umar ibn Abi Salamah, ra. recalled: "When I was young, I've been in the room the Prophet Muhammad and his hands often ruffled plates. Rasulullah SAW said to me, 'Son, read Bismillah, eat with your right hand and eat good food nearby." ( HR. Bukhari)

7. Eat when hungry and stop before satiety.

From Mikdam bin Ma'dikarib ra. claimed to have heard the Messenger of Allah said: "Did not meet son Adam a place worse than his stomach. suffice for the son of Adam a few mouthfuls to enforce the spine. If there is no other way, then the third (of his stomach) for food, one-third to drink and one third for breathing. "(Narrated by al-Tirmidhi and Hakim)

8. Lick the hand when eating without a spoon or fork.

From Abu Hurairah ra. that the Prophet SAW said: "If one among you eat, then let him lick his fingers, for he does not know where the emergence of fingers blessing." (Narrated by Muslim)

In a hadith narrated by Imam Muslim too, Ka'b bin Malik ra. testified that he never saw the Prophet eating with the three fingers and lick he finished eating.

Modern medical discovery shows that when we eat with fingers and licking fingers to clean it up, then finger secretes enzymes that are very helpful for smooth digestion.

9. Remove dirt from falling food and eat it.

Anas bin Malik, may Allah. said that the Prophet Muhammad is often eaten by licking three fingers (thumb, index and middle fingers), as he said: "If there is a drop your food, then throw feces and let him eat it and not leave it for the devil." And he also told us to lick the plate as he said: "Surely you do not know where the food was a blessing." (Narrated by Muslim)

Islam prohibits wasteful things, including the food. Often we see people taking excess food that is not eaten. The food is wasteful finally allowed to demons, but it could be true in these foods are blessing. Therefore, when taking food should be based on the calculation that the food will be eaten.

10. Eating and drinking while sitting.

Prophet once prohibited a man drinking while standing. Qatadah said: "What about eating?" Apostle replied: "That's even worse." (Narrated by Muslim)

11. Not breathing when drinking and keep your mouth from watering when breathing.

Abu Al-Mutsni Al-Jahni ra said, I've been at home Marwan bin Hakam, suddenly came to Abu Sa'id ra. Marwan said to him: "Have you ever heard the Messenger of Allah forbade breathing in a drink? '. Abu Sa'id said: "Yes. Someone once said to Prophet Muhammad," I'm not satisfied with just one breath water. "Then the Messenger of Allah said," Take away the water (glass) from your mouth and breathe! "Guy said, "Verily, I saw there was dirt in the pub." Then the Messenger of Allah said, "Then, Pour out! (Narrated by Abu Dawood)

And also from Ibn Abbas. said: "The Messenger of Allah forbade to breathe the air in the glass (while drinking) and blowing on them." (Narrated by Tirmidhi)

Prophet Muhammad forbade breathing when drinking. When you drink and breathe, our bodies emit CO 2 (carbon dioxide), when mixed with H 2 O (water) may be H 2 CO 3 (vinegar) causing the drink to be acidic (Acid). This can happen also when blowing hot. Food and hot drinks should not be cooled by blowing, but pretty fanned.

12. Not prejudiced if the meal was accompanied by a diseased person.

From Jabir ra. that the Prophet never hold the hands of people who majdzum (leprosy), he put his hand on a dinner plate as he said: "Eat, rest assured, and put thy trust in Allah." (Narrated by Abu Dawood)

13. Do not sit at a table being served food forbidden.

From Jabir ra. that the Prophet once said: "He who believes in Allah and the Last Day, then he should not sit at the dinner table to her circulated khamr drink." (Narrated by Imam Tirmidhi)

14. pray for an inviting dining.

Anas bin Malik, may Allah. that the Prophet once came to Sa'ad bin Ubadah ra. serving bread and butter. Rasulullah SAW eat it, then he said: "It is breaking your side those who fasted. Hidanganmu been eaten by the righteous (good) and the angels pray for the good of you." (Narrated by Ahmad and Abu Dawud)

15. Closing places to eat and drink.

From Jabir ra. that the Prophet once said: "Close the place where food and drink!" (Narrated by Bukhari, Muslim)

Closing places to eat and drink is very beneficial to prevent food from air pollution, dirt or harmful substances that can get into food or drink that is not titutupi.
