Definition Liar
Raghib al-Ashfahani said:

"Just be honest and lie is the word, whether it's on the case in the distant past, future, or in the form of a promise. Named lie because menyelisihi words what is in his heart. "(Fathul Bari, 10/623).

Imam Nawawi said:

"You know, schools of Ahlus Sunnah say that lying is preaching something menyelisihi fact, just the same you intentionally or unintentionally. People who lie to the accident, then there is no sin, but he would sin if done intentionally. "(Al-Adzkar, p. 326, see also Al-Adab ash-Syar'iyah, 1/53).

Law of Lying

Behold, the arguments of the Book and the Sunnah that confirms the general prohibition of lying so much. Lying including sin is ugly and despicable disgrace. This race has agreed to prohibition lie, coupled with the presence of the arguments are very much in this matter. (Al-Adzkar, p. 324).

Reproach for those who lie


1. Did not heed God's command

Allah commanded all his servants not to follow something that is not science. People who lie means indulge the passions have to follow what he does not know, and it is strictly forbidden as in His saying:

ولا تقف ما ليس لك به علم إن السمع والبصر والفؤاد كل أولئك كان عنه مسئولا

"And do not follow what you have no knowledge of it. Indeed, hearing, sight and hearts, all that will be required of coverage responsibilities. "(Al-Israa ': 36)

Imam ash-Syinqithi said:

"God forbid in this noble verse that humans do not follow what he does not have any knowledge in it. Included in this are the words of those who say: 'I have seen', and he had not seen it. 'I have heard', and he had not heard it. 'I know', but he does not know. Similarly, people who speak without knowledge and those who do practice without science, is also included in this paragraph. "(Adhwa'ul Bayan, 3/145)

2. The command to do right, the ban would be contrary

If God commands something, then the consequences will reverse the ban. The command to do right, meaning the ban lying. Consider the word of God as follows:


يا أيها الذين آمنوا اتقوا الله وكونوا مع الصادقين

"O ye who believe, fear Allah, and be ye with the right people." (At-Tawbah: 119)

Shaykh 'Abd as-Sa'di said:

"He said, 'And be ye with the right people', that is, in word, deed, and in their circumstances. Speech is ejected from their true and honest, Nor actions and their circumstances unless it is, is far from lazy, safe from malicious intent, seeks sincere and righteous intentions. Surely honesty leads to goodness, and goodness of delivering the good, and the good conduct into heaven. "(Taisir Karimir Rahman, p. 312).

Similarly, the Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam once said honestly praising and criticizing the nature of nature lies. Consider the following hadith:

From Abdullah bin Mas'ud radi 'anhu, that the Prophet sallallaahu' alaihi wa sallam said: "Indeed it brings honesty to goodness, and goodness deliver into heaven. It is not someone to be honest to Allah writes it down as someone who is always honest. And the lie that leads to ugliness, and ugliness that deliver to hell. It's one habitually lie to Allah writes it down as a liar. "(Narrated by Bukhari no. 6094, Muslim no. 2607)

3. Disaster oral

People say that oral is boneless meat, if the man does not keep his tongue, so that he can kebinasaanlah. Always remember, no one saying came out of our mouths, unless there is an angel who notes. Allah says:

ما يلفظ من قول إلا لديه رقيب عتيد

"Nothing ever saying a word but there is a nearby angel supervisor is always present." (Qaf: 18)

4. Signs hypocrites

Lying is a habit of the hypocrites. Hypocrites will always reveal something menyelisihi what you have in mind, among which is the lie. Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam said:

"Signs hypocrite are three: When he speaks a lie, if the promises reneged, and if he believed treasonous." (Narrated by Bukhari no. 6095, Muslim no. 59).

5. Destruction for a lie

Lying is not justified, either seriously or just messing around it. Often we see people that had gathered with his friends will attempt to make happy and laugh even though his friends have to lie! Surely this is not justified, given the words of the Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam, which reads:

"Woe to those who lie to other people laugh, woe to him, woe to him." (Narrated by Abu Dawud no. 4990, Tirmidhi no. 2315, Darimi no. 2705, Ahmad 5/7. Dihasankan by al-Albaani in al-Misykah no. 4834).

Noble Companions Abdullah bin Mas'ud radi 'anhu said: "Lying is not justified, either seriously or just messing around." (Tafsir Ibn Kathir, 2/363).

6. Painful torment

This also includes taunts and threats to people who lie, renungilah story in the following hadith, that lying is not just a little sin!

Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam said:

"One night I dreamed two men, and then they took me to a holy place. In that place I saw two people who were sitting and there were two people standing on their hands there was an iron bar. Iron was inserted into the jawbone until translucent neck. Then the iron was inserted in the jaw bone to another such that too, so full of iron ...

Finally, the Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam said: "You have me around, now proclaim me of events which I have seen." They said: "The people that you see pierced with iron jaws, he is a liar, telling lies to sin it meets the corners of the sky. What you see to it will continue to be done until the Day of Resurrection. "(Narrated by Bukhari no. 1386, Ahmad 5/14).

Lie the lie

Could lie in various ways. Among them is to tell the truth the dream he did not see the dream. Fear O my brother, thou shalt not accustomed to telling a dream you do not see it, because the Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam said:

"It is a lie is a lie that tells the dream that he had not seen." (Narrated by Bukhari no. 7043, Ahmad 2/96).

Lie against GOD and His messenger

Indeed, the doings of people who want to destroy religion is very diverse, ranging from those who reject the Sunnah to replenish adhering to the Qur'an, or people who received some of the Sunnah and rejecting others. What's worse than all the people who do lie about this hanif religion. They dared to lie against Allah and His Messenger. Here is a little explanation about the dangers lie in the name of Allah and the Messenger.

1. Lying to God

No doubt lie upon Allah is the greatest sin and most ugly deeds. Even people who dared to lie against Allah means have followed their predecessors of the scribes. Allah says:

وإن منهم لفريقا يلوون ألسنتهم بالكتاب لتحسبوه من الكتاب وما هو من الكتاب ويقولون هو من عند الله وما هو من عند الله ويقولون على الله الكذب وهم يعلمون

"Surely there is a party among those who twirled the Book with their tongues, that ye may think that reading it is from the Book, but it is not from the Book, and they say:" He (who reads it comes) from Allah ", but it is not from Allah. They tell a lie against Allah while they know. "(Ali 'Imran: 78).

Very many verses of Allah that threaten those who lie against Him. Among Allah says:

فمن أظلم ممن افترى على الله كذبا ليضل الناس بغير علم إن الله لا يهدي القوم الظالمين

"And who is more injustice than those who invent a lie against Allah to lead people astray without knowledge?" Verily Allah does not guide the unjust people. "(Al-An'am: 144)

Imam Tabari said:

"And who is more injustice against him, far from the truth, rather than those who make a lie against Allah? Also included in this paragraph is not forbid what Allah has forbidden, and that does not justify what dihalalkannya. "(Tafsir Tabari, 8/68).

Another word of God:

فمن أظلم ممن كذب بآيات الله وصدف عنها سنجزي الذين يصدفون عن آياتنا سوء العذاب بما كانوا يصدفون

"And who is more injustice than those who reject God and turn away from it? Later we will reward those who turn away from Our verses with a bad torment, because they turn away. "(Al-An'am: 157).

Among the forms of lying on Allah is interpreting the verses of Allah without knowledge, polish clause for the benefit of his desires! Ketahuiolah O brothers and sisters, the best generation of people is very careful to interpret the verses without any knowledge.

Abu Bakr as-Siddiq radi 'anhu said:

"Which earth and heaven could kupijak Which can menaungiku when I talk about the Book of Allah without knowledge?" (Majmoo 'Fataawa, 13/371).

Tabi'in glorious Masyruq said:

"Be careful you in interpreting the Qur'an, because it is a narration of God." (Majmoo 'Fataawa, 13/374)

Shaykh al-Islam atsar atsar comment above:

"Atsar-atsar a saheeh and other matters of the priests Salaf, brought to mind them to talk about the interpretations they do not know the science. The person who spoke interpretation with the knowledge that he has the language and syar'i, it is not why. This is to be taken by any person, shall for her silence in a case that he had no knowledge of it, so too must explain to those who asked and he knows the problems. "(Majmoo 'Fataawa, 13/374).

Similarly, including destroyers and destroyer of religion is that many people who berfatwa without science. Not a few people who berfatwa without science, citing the verses of Allah and then interpreted by his wits were tight! Fa innaa lillah wa innaa Ilaihi raaji'uun.

Allah says:

قل إنما حرم ربي الفواحش ما ظهر منها وما بطن والإثم والبغي بغير الحق وأن تشركوا بالله ما لم ينزل به سلطانا وأن تقولوا على الله ما لا تعلمون

"Say: 'My Lord forbids only a heinous act, whether visible or hidden, and sin, violate human rights in defiance of right, (forbid) to Allah with something that God did not lose the argument for it and (forbid) fetched forge against Allah what you do not know. "(Al-A'raf: 33).

Imam Ibn al-Qayyim said:

"God is haram-forbidden sort into four levels. He started with the lightest of the heinous act, then the heavier keharamannya of sin and kezhaliman, then order a third bigger than the two above keharamannya is shirk, and ending with the most severe keharamannya than all of the above is talking to God without science. "(I'lamul Muwaqqi'in, 1/47).

Another word of God:

ولا تقولوا لما تصف ألسنتكم الكذب هذا حلال وهذا حرام لتفتروا على الله الكذب إن الذين يفترون على الله الكذب لا يفلحون

"And say not of what is said by the tongue is falsehood" This is lawful and this is unlawful, "to invent a lie against Allah. Verily those who invent a lie against Allah Nor lucky. "(An-Nahl: 116).

Some salaf said:

"Let you fear saying: 'Allah has forbidden this and that', then God says to you: 'You lie! I never justify it and forbid it. 'So it is not appropriate someone said without knowledge of halal and haram, or saying Allah has made and mengharamkannya only based on taqlid and atkwil. "(I'lamul Muwaqqi'in, 1/47).

2. Lie against the Messenger

Indeed, the lies-lies upon the Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam is a gross violation of his. The person doing so is to discourage people from the religion of truth. Moreover for the layman who always accept whatever is said to them, though actually collide with religious rules, guidance and common fithrah.

Lying on the Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam, among others by making false hadith, said that the Prophet sallallaahu' alaihi wa sallam has said and do it. People who lie to the Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam was threatened with hell. Based on the following hadeeth:

Of Ali ibn Abi Talib radi 'anhu that the Prophet sallallaahu' alaihi wa sallam bersbda:

"Do you guys lied to me, the real people who lie to me let him go to hell." (Narrated by Bukhari no. 106, Muslim no. 1).

Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam also said:

"Whoever lies upon me, let him take his seat in hell." (HR Mutawatir.. Bukhari no. 107, Muslim no. 3004).

Al-Hafiz Ibn Hajar said:

"Lying on the Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam is a major sin, while in others, including lying to a minor sin. So not the same threat to the lie on the Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam, and besides him. "(Fathul Bari, 1/267).

LIE is allowed

Imam Nawawi said:

"Remember that lying is haram home though, but allowed in some circumstances with certain conditions." (Al-Adzkar, p. 325).

Among the cases that are allowed to lie, among others:

1. In order to reconcile between people.

Originally bolehnya this case, is what is narrated by Umm Kulthum bint Uqbah:

From Umm Kulthum, he heard the Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam said: "It is not including the liar who reconciles between people, or say well intentioned." (Narrated by Buhari no. 26,920)

2. When the war

War is deceit, the Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam said:

"War is deception." (Narrated by Bukhari no. 3030, Muslim no. 1739).

Imam Ibn al-Arabi said:

"Liar when war is permissible exclusions based on texts, as a relief for the Muslims because their needs at the time." (Fathul Bari, 6/192, see also al-Shahihah, 2/86).

3. Between husband and wife

According to the hadith:

Umm Kulthum said: "Never have I heard from the Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam gave relief to lie except on three cases. Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam said:' It is not I think it's a lie if to reconcile between people, say a kind word for peace is nothing else but the man who lied when in battle, and a husband who lied to his wife or a wife who lied to her husband .; "(Narrated by Abu Dawud no. 4921, dishahihkan by al-Albaani in al-Shahihah no. 54).

Imam Nawawi said:

"As for lying to his wife, or wife to husband lie, it is desirable to show the love and promises are not binding. The purpose lie deceive by withholding what is required is not fulfilled or take a right, then it is forbidden by the agreement of the Muslims. "(Sharh Sahih Muslim, 16/121).

Shaykh al-Albani said:

"It's not a lie, including the permissible when the husband promises his wife that he did not want to keep that promise, or a husband to tell his wife that he had bought it and it was more than reality for the sake of his wife. Such matters can be discovered, can be a cause bickering and prejudices of a wife to her husband, this includes not repair the damage. (Ash-Shahihah, 1/818).
